I am a chartered clinical psychologist, registered with the British Psychological Society and the Health Professions Council.
Having spent five years working in a local child and adolescent mental health team, I now work full-time in NHS adult mental health services, and with my private practice, www.cheshire-psychology.co.uk.
Cheshire Psychology specialises in offering therapy sessions at times to suit working people, and is flexible in evening and weekend appointments. Therapy is provided using a range of approaches to suit individual need, which include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy and psychodynamic therapy. Many people seek treatment who are not mentally ill, but simply feel unhappy, or out of sorts. Therapy in the 21st Century focuses more on trying to help people achieve a sense of contentment with their lives, and works to allow people to fulfill their potential.
Additional areas of work include treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, Asperger Syndrome, as well as many others. People who use Cheshire Psychology are largely from a wide area, from Chester, Nantwich, Stoke-on-Trent and Liverpool. I am registered with therapy providers who deal with insurance companies and medico-legal agents to provide therapy following industrial accidents, for example.
I am a member of the European Society for Trauma and Dissociation (www.estd.org) and within this specialise in personal therapy for trauma and dissociative conditions, as well as networking with professionals around the country. A DVD on Dissociative Identity Disorder has recently been released, in which I feature, describing dissociation, its origins and therapeutic treatments.
